The West Indies B team is scheduled to play their final match in Round 2 of the Global T20 Canada Cricket League which bowled off last month. The squad which includes national players Kavem Hodge and Alick Athanaze will take on Montreal Tigers today after suffering their first defeat of the tournament yesterday to Vancouver Knights where they scored (140); (35) runs short of Vancouver’s total of (175).
Kavem Hodge was the top scorer for his side in that match scoring (43) from (39) balls while Athanaze was unable to get on the scoresheet. The team played a total of (5) matches, winning (4) against rivals Toronto Nationals (by 8 wickets), Winnipeg Hawks (by 9 wickets), Edmonton Royals (by 3 wickets), and their opening match against Montreal Tigers (by 2 wickets) scoring 187/8 while chasing a total of 183/9 set by the Tigers.
Windies currently sit at the top of the table with (8) points, just (1) point ahead of 2nd place Vancouver Knights with (7) points. Montreal Tigers are currently in 6th with 2 points and will surely be working hard for a victory today.
We wish our boys all the best as we’ll be hoping for a positive result for the West Indies B team in this and all upcoming matches.
