Real Madrid Secures 3rd Consecutive UEFA Champions League Title

Real Madrid clinched their 3rd straight title over the weekend in grand style, thrashing Liverpool 3-1 in Kiev, Ukraine. The victory came after Karim Benzema opened the scoring in the 51st minute which was short lived as Sadio Mane quickly equalized for Liverpool in the 55th minute. It was the second-half substitution, Gareth Bale, who stole show scoring in the 64th and 83rd minute to secure the 3rd consecutive Champions League title for Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Bale isn’t the only one who stands out for the Spanish giants as Portuguese, Cristiano Ronaldo was the top scorer of the tournament with (15) goals ahead of Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino with (10) each. Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos topped the charts for most completed passes with (854) as Liverpool’s James Milner got most assists of the tournament with (9) assists. Liverpool was also able to outscore Real Madrid who ended the tournament with (33) goals while Liverpool scored (41).

It’s notable to mention that Mohammed Salah was subbed off during the match in the 29th minute due to injury, and ten minutes later, Madrid’s defender, Dani Carvajal was also subbed off due to a hamstring injury.
