Final Round Of Primary School Football Scheduled For Tomorrow

Press Release – The Final Round of the 2018 Primary Schools Football Championship, which is organized by the Sports Division and supported by Sport Aid Dominica, will take place Tomorrow, Wednesday, 25^th April, 2018.

The championship, which started on February 23^rd featured 34 schools, will culminate with the two (2) last matches – the 3^rd place match and the Final – at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Roseau on Wednesday.

In the Semi-Finals, which took place on Tuesday 10^th April at the Benjamin’s Park, the Roosevelt Douglas Primary School, and the St. Mary’s Primary School emerged the Finalists after winning their matches.

The Roosevelt Douglas Primary School won its match against the Atkinson/LightHouse Combined Team – 8:1 whilst the other semi-final match was won on penalty kicks by the St. Mary’s Primary against the Calibishie Primary School. Both schools were tied 2:2 after the game had gone into over-time –  the St. Mary’s Primary School won on penalty kicks – 3:2.

The Final Round of this year’s football championship will begin at 2:15 pm with the match to determine the 3^rd place team and will feature the Calibishie Primary School and the Atkinson/LightHouse Combined Team.

The Final match will then be played at 3:15 pm and will feature the Finalists, the Roosevelt Douglas Primary School, and the St. Mary’s Primary  School.  

The Grand Fond Primary School won the 2017 Championship.
