Antigua, and St. Vincent also finished with two (2) medals while Jamaica topped the table with a total of eighty-two (82) medals; (44) gold, (27) Silver, and (11) Bronze.
Despite coming home with only two (2) medals, Dominica was well represented by our athletes in their various disciplines, with a very supportive technical staff.
Much appreciation to National Sports Coordinator, Trevor Shillingford for sharing these compelling words via Facebook after the tournament.
Our Regional youths must be complimented for the manner in which they went about executing and for the spectacle which was on display. I salute the youth of our Region. Well done Caribbean youth…..you were ALL champions.
The level of discipline and camaraderie on display over the weekend is a good sign for the sustainability of our Caribbean Civilization. There is so much positive in our young people, once they are given a fair chance they can make our region proud. There is no better vehicle to bring out the positive energy in our youth than Sport.
Let us all commit ourselves to making our presence felt whenever they are out there competing. Well done the people of Bahamas for the massive show of support, in the Stands daily. It certainly brought out the best in the young people.
Congratulations again to all the athletes who participated, your hard work and dedication will not go unnoticed.
