U20 Cricket Championship Begins Tomorrow

The Sports Division is pleased to inform of the commencement of the 2018 Massy United Insurance Secondary Schools Under-20 Cricket Championship.

This year’s championship is the fourth event to be staged by the Sports Division since the destruction suffered by Dominica from Hurricane Maria; and will once more be supported with sponsorship by Massy United Insurance. The Sports Division welcomes the support at Massy United Insurance and is grateful for their commitment shown towards cricket development on the island.

The 2018 Championship will see participants from nine teams/schools and will be played in two zones.

The Championship will officially commence on Friday, February 2, 2018, with a Ball-O-Rama amongst the participating teams at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium; prior to the action on the pitch the teams gathered will be met by the Honorable Minister responsible for Sports, Justina Charles, a representative of Massy United Insurance and the Sports Coordinator at 9:30am.

Matches in the league format are expected to be played at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium, Benjamin Park, Jolly John Park, Castle Bruce Playing Field, and the Botanic Gardens.
