The Tables Have Turned

After a difficult start, losing their opening (3) matches in the 2018 CWI Super 50; the Windward Islands Volcanoes have turned the tables by winning their remaining (3) matches with the most recent victory against the Marooners CCC earlier today by (1) wicket. The boys won the toss, (elected to field) and were able to limit the Marooners to a total of 172/10 after 50 overs. They later edged out a victory by scoring 177/9 in 50 overs with a run rate of 3.54.

Kavem Hodge scored 13 from 28 (run out) while Shane Shillingford managed 10 from 32 (lbw) with the pair taking 3 wickets each.

With (15) wickets to his name, Shane Shillingford is only one wicket shy of the leading wicket-taker, Sunil Narine of T&T Red Force in this Super 50 tournament. Shillingford is also the top wicket-taker for the Windward Islands Volcanoes with fellow Dominican, Kavem Hodge in 3rd with (8). The Marooners handed us our first loss, and this match was a good payback. Congrats to the boys on their victory.
