Athanaze Strikes Despite Loss


It’s been tough for the West Indies Under 19s as they lost yet another match on Wednesday, January 17th, to South Africa by 76 runs in the 2018 ICC Under 19 World Cup. Despite the loss, Alick Athanaze of Dominica represented well, scoring an impressive 76 runs from 100 balls hitting six 4s and one 6.

In their previous match, the windies (233/8) lost by 8 wickets to New Zealand (234/2) at the Bay Oval in Tauranga. Athanaze could only afford a total of 26 runs from 33 balls in that game.

The boys will face Kenya Under 19s at Lincoln No. 3, Christchurch, New Zealand on January 20th, 10:30 (local) but January 19th, 21:30 (GMT). We wish them all the best.
