DAVA Restructure: Loblack unopposed, Leblanc Vice President!

On Saturday April 22nd, the Dominica Amateur Volleyball Association helds it Annual General Meeting at the Flow Complex in Canefield. The meeting started just about 10:45am and ended about 2:45pm.

The body met with representatives from most teams to receive and adopt the President’s and Treasurer’s annual reports. President Albert Loblack lamented that despite running a successful league and fielding teams at the Under 23 indoor and youth beach tournaments, there was a lot left to be desired in relation to implementation and execution of the former Executive’s planned programs. These issues were discussed among others and attendees at the meeting noting that it was a fruitful discussion.

Last on the agenda was the issue of elections as the current administration’s term had come to a close. Mr Albert Loblack was retained as President unopposed. Also retaining her position unopposed was treasurer Ms Roanna Joseph. Ericson Leblanc of Portsmouth was voted unopposed as vice president as was Mr Marcus Blondel in the post of secretary. Former secretary Dr Everlyn Durand was reelected as Assistant Secretary/ Treasurer and Mrs Shari Pascal Maronie as PRO. Committee members include senior national coach Mr Jeffrey Edmund, Lincoln Riviere and Ray Robinson.

Mr Loblack in his closing speech, took the opportunity to thank all sponsors, patrons and players for their ongoing support and called for the new executive to remain dedicated and focused on the way forward for volleyball.

    Everyone unopposed? When is the carded date for the National League? Crazy stuff.
