Climax Of Digicel NBA Jumpstart Clinic

Digicel NBA Jumpstart

Digicel in collaboration with the NBA ran their second consecutive basketball clinic across the Caribbean. The clinic began on August 25th in Bermuda and came to an end yesterday at the British Virgin Islands. Clinics were also held in Grenada, Barbados, Turks and Caicos, Antigua & Barbuda, Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica and Dominica. The Dominican leg of those clinics were held in September between the 23rd and 25th where seven (7) athletes were selected to participate in the 2nd round of the Digicel NBA Jumpstart Clinic in the BVI over the weekend.

Those seven (7) athletes included two (2) girls, Suejata Cuffy and Alliyah Prince and five (5) boys Kiefer Francis, Josh Joseph, Jacob Barry, Jonathan Mills & Jessie Benjamin. Despite positive remarks from the coaches non of our players made it unto the final team that will be traveling to New York. We are certain that our athletes enjoyed the learning experience and we hope it will be used as a stepping stone to improve their skills.

Yesterday, Digicel congratulated the final team of thirteen (13) chosen to move on to the Jumpstart NBA Experience in New York. Athletes were chosen from Barbados, Antigua, BVI, Trinidad & Tobago and Bermuda.

We encourage our athletes to never be discouraged and continue working hard in hopes of a better result. Like Ralph Waldo Emerson said “Our greatest glory is not in never failing but in rising up every time we fail”.

Here’s a recap of highlights of day one from Digicel Dominica –
