2016 WINLOTT INC/(WICBC) Under 19 Tournament

The 2016 WINLOTT INC/Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control (WICBC) Under 19 Tournament gets on the way on Monday 27th June, with two matches – St. Vincent and the Grenadines vs Dominica at Arnos Vale I and St. Lucia vs Grenada at the Sion Hill Playing Field.

The matches are of two days duration and the Tournament which will be in a round robin format will end on Sunday 3rd July, with a prize giving ceremony and announcement of the 2016 Windward Islands team to participate in the Regional Under 19 Tournaments, also to be played in St. Vincent from the 24th July 2016.

The WICBC is indeed grateful to have secured sponsorship for this Tournament from WINLOTT Inc for yet another year in the sum of $100,000,00 for administration of the tournament. WINLOTT Inc also finances the purchase of team uniforms, prizes, medals and trophies.

The success of this sponsorship could be measured by the fact that the Windward Islands gained four selections on the West Indies Under 19 team which won the Under 19 World Cup earlier this year. They were Vincentians: Gidron Pope and Obed Mc Coy and two Grenadians: Ryan John and Emmanuel Stewart, both of whom are still in the Under 19 aged group and will be seen in action in this WINLOTT Inc/WICBC Tournament.

Under the agreement WINLOTT Inc has exclusive marketing rights to this tournaments, including branding, naming and media rights, and promotional events. WINLOTT Inc has also sponsored the Windward U15 Tournaments in 2015 and this years’ tournaments held earlier this year in Dominica. Both entities will continue to engage each other as to developmental activities for the young cricketers from the Windwards group.
