Three (3) selected from Digicel Kick Start Program

Digicel Kick Start Program

In recent years, Digicel has been launching a Kick Start Program to give young footballers the opportunity to receive training from high level football organizations. This year they partnered with coaches from Manchester City FC of England who are currently facing Real Madrid of Spain in the 2016 UEFA Champions League Semi Final which is arguably the most prestigious tournament in the world.

The Dominica Football Association presented thirty (30) young footballers under the age of 16 and born not earlier than the year 2000 to participate in the Digicel Kick Start program which was held over a two (2) day period. Three (3) out of the thirty (30) players were chosen to join players from Fourteen (14) other Caribbean countries in Jamaica in June of this year. Six (6) players will then be given an opportunity of a Lifetime to travel to England to train with the Manchester City Football Academy. The three (3) Dominican chosen were:

  • Perry Charles of the Dominica Grammar School and player for Point Michel.
  • Kiano Martin of the Isiah Thomas Secondary School and player for Mahaut Soca Strikers.
  • Jomiah Timothy of the Dominica Grammar School and player for Bath Estate FC.[huge_it_gallery id=”12″]
