Friday:
Congratulations to the Globe One Pacers and the Paix Bouche Eagles, the finalists in the 2015/16 Foneshack Possie Basketball League men’s Division. While the Possie Vibrations Lightning awaits the winner of Graphic Information Services Hoyas vs Paix Bouche Snipers on Wednesday.
On the way to the finals in the Juniors, on Friday night, The Possie Vibrations Lightnings took the series opener over the Portsmouth Community Watch Foundation PSS 78-44. For
PSS, Shonady Charles had a team high 17pts while Richmond Pierre Louis and Chad Guadard contributed 14 and 12 respectively.
In game two the Paix Bouche Eagles took the
series opener over the Caribbean Concrete Ltd Originals 68-49. For Originals, Reginald Thomas had a team high 19 while Reggillio Cisse contributed 14pts. For the Eagles, Derrison Anthony 19 with Lenin Paul contributed 10.
Saturday:
Semi-final match ups continued on Saturday night with only the Juniors taking the court. In game one, the Possie Vibrations Lightning cemented their spot into the finals with a 77-28 win over the Portsmouth Community Watch Foundation PSS to win the series 2-0. For PSS, Chad Guadard reached a team high 10 and 6 from Shonady Charles. For Lightning, Dontee Xavier’s 22, Lemar Irish’s 18, Cobin Paul’s 17 and Brion Antoine’s 11 were too much for PSS.
In game 2, leading the series 1-0, the Graphic Information Services Hoyas failed to sendhome the Paix Bouche Snipers who have forced a game 3 decider on Wednesday at 7pm. Scores in that encounter were Eagles 65 Hoyas 53. For Hoyas, Felix Lawrence had a team high 20 while Julien Andrew contributed 13. For Snipers Monad Thomas had a game high 29 while Kheron Wallace contributed 11. Series is tied 1-1.
Sunday:
Sunday proved to be very exciting night of basketball. The Globe One Pacers lead the series 1-0 over the regular season Champs, the Aldrin’s Pizzeria Lamphers and were able to dig a little further to win the series 2-0 to advance to the finals. Final scores in that encounter were Pacers 53, Lamphers 45. For Lamphers Bertist Jeffers contributed 10 while Teddy Riviere and Miguel Mills contributed 9 and 8 respectively. For Pacers, contributions from, Garvin Joseph 17, John James and Kervin Augustine 12 each secured them a trip to the finals.
In game two the Caribbean Concrete Ltd Originals could not slow down the pace as the Paix Bouche Eagles cruised pass them 60-40 on their way to the finals, winning the series 2-0. For Originals, Earl Matthew 12, and Cedric Hypolite 6 was just not enough. For the Eagles, Hendricks Holsborough 16, Lynvor John 13 and Lenin Paul 10 proved too much for the Originals.
Game 3 decider Hoyas vs Snipers will be played on Wednesday night 7pm.
