More action from the Dominica Amateur Basketball Association

The Dominica Amateur Basketball Association National League Finals started off with a whooping bang on Wednesday August 5th at the Massacre Hard court. Six teams having emerged victorious in their respective semi – final series vie for the top spot in 3 Divisions. The teams were as follows: Women Division – Lady Panthers versus Northern Starz; Division-1, Kairi FM Ole Skool versus Elijah Law Chambers Thunderers; and Premier Division – D-Tread Blazers versus Fast Cash Prowlers.

Women Champs

In the Women Division, best of 3 Finals series, Lady Panthers spared no win to the Northern Starz beating them 2-0. Game one tipped off on Wednesday August 5 at 7:00pm and Game 2 on Saturday August 15 at 7:00pm both at Massacre.

Premier Champs

In the Premier Division, D-Tread Blazers claimed their 3rd championship in a row after defeating Fast Cash Prowlers 3 games to 1 in their best of 5 finals series. In game 4 on Wednesday August 19 at Trafalgar, Blazers escaped with a 2 point victory over Fast Cash Prowlers capturing their 3rd win at 71-69. Top performer for Blazers was Jeff Jeremy with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists while the top performer for Prowlers was Julian Isles Jr with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist.

Division-1

In the Division-1, Kairi FM Ole Skool and Elijah Law Chambers Thunderers go head to head in an ongoing battle to determine who will be the division’s championship team. In game 1, at 7:00pm in Massacre on August 15, Thunderers stormed over Ole Skool 81-55 after having lead for most of the game. Top performer for Thunderers was Kevin Toussaint with 28 pts, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals and top performer for Ole Skool was Levi Baron with 22 pts, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals. In game 2 at 7:00pm at Trafalgar on August 19, Ole Skool responded with a 10 point victory of 63-53. Top performer for Ole Skool was again Levi Baron with 16 pts, 7 rebounds and 1 assist and for Thunderers was Daniel Ormond with 15 pts, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Current wins in this best of 5 finals series remain tied at 1-1. The games continue on Tuesday August 25, 8:00pm at Massacre.
