Preparations for the 2015 Windward Islands Schools Games, which is expected to be held in Dominica from July 26th – August 2, 2015, are in high gear.
Training is ongoing in all the sporting disciplines and on Friday, July 10th, a track and field trial will be held at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium to give officials another opportunity to see the student athletes in action and to gauge their readiness.
All students who have been called for training, including students on the basketball, football, netball, and volleyball squads, are invited to this meet which will begin at 12 Noon.
This meet will also be used as a practice run for the track and field event which is expected to follow the grand opening ceremony of the 2015 CBN/WINLOTT Windward Islands Schools Games carded to take place on Sunday, July 26th at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.
The Windward Islands Schools Games is a tournament which showcases multi-disciplined athletes from the four (4) Windward Islands. Each country will be represented at the Games by a contingent of seventy (70) people.
The Sports Division in the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture and Constituency Empowerment is the agency responsible for the hosting of the teams.
