The Journey Continues For Glenson Prince After Training With The NY Cosmos

We caught up with former Athlete of The Year and captain of the Dominica Senior National Football Team Glenson Prince earlier this week after he participated in a training session with the NY Cosmos last week.

Prince is a crowd favourite here in Dominica whenever he’s on the pitch. Playing football for majority of his life he’s currently in New York where he got an opportunity to train at the Hofstra Soccer Field with members of the NY Cosmos B team which he seemed to have been very thankful for.

“My experience with the New York Cosmos B team was a tremendous one. The coaching staff and players were very receptive and welcoming. What really got my attention was the way everyone was having fun and interacting with each other while maintaining a level of professionalism. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the team.”

Prince is still looking to get back to the professional level of the sport after his spell of professional football in Trinidad ended last year. Since then he has been back home enjoying local football where he recently left his hometown club Bombers FC to join rivals Dublanc FC where together they won the DFA Flow Premier League.

“It has definitely been a good year for me thus far. Making it to the 2nd round of the Scotiabank Caribbean Cup and winning the Flow Premier League has greatly contributed to that. As a 28 year old goalkeeper, I still see myself as being relatively young at my position. My ultimate goal is to one day have a successful career in football so the work never stops. I will continue to seek opportunities which will allow me to learn and better myself as a goalkeeper and as a person. So throughout the remainder of the year, you can expect me to continue working and finding ways to improve on my game.”

Prince is also a full time teacher at (PSS) Portsmouth Secondary School and he’s the coach of their football team.
