RDPS Occupy Hard Court. Protest!

The students and staff of the Roosevelt Douglas Primary School, conducted a small protest at the Benjamins Park in Portsmouth ahead of the finals of the Primary Schools Netball Championship organized by the Dominica Sports Division which prevented the commencement of the scheduled match.

It appears that the Roosevelt Douglas Primary School felt that they were wrongfully denied a shot at the final after an error was made by the organizers which in-turn caused them to face the wrong team in the quarter-final stage where they lost.

Based on the information gathered, the Roosevelt Douglas Primary School (zone champions) played against the WS Stevens Primary School (zone champions) in the quarterfinals of the Primary School Netball Tournament while the Saint Johns Primary runner-up played against Sinekuu Primary runner-up in Marigot on Tuesday last week.

After both games were played, it was found out that the wrong teams played against each other. Irrespective of the mistakes made and confirmed by the sports officials, semi-finals matches continued between the Saint Johns Primary and Salibury Primary.
The final was scheduled to take place today between WS Stevens and Saint Johns and hence the reasons for the protest.
